Amy Woodland Elementary School
About our School
Amy Woodland is an accomplished elementary school located in Cranbrook with a student body of around 250. We take pride in our achievements in areas such as academics, fine arts, and athletics. To promote a positive learning environment, we have implemented a Code of Conduct that encourages our students to demonstrate a respectful attitude towards learning, appreciate diversity, and cooperate with their peers and teachers. Our school is a hub of activity where students learn to work together while recognizing and celebrating each other's differences.

Our vision is to provide support for our students to learn and grow, regardless of their abilities. Our mission is to care for each child and family that we welcome into our community and to nurture relationships through collaboration, teaching, and compassion. To guide our actions and interactions, we uphold values such as respect, fairness, integrity, and inclusion.

As a part of our commitment to our students' well-being, we endeavor to provide them with a diverse range of opportunities to explore Cranbrook and beyond. Our students regularly engage in activities like skating, swimming, hikes to the Elizabeth Lake bird sanctuary, trips to Fort Steele, and other exciting locations. Our Wilderness Wednesday program takes classroom learning outside, as students spend each Wednesday morning throughout the year at Jim Smith Lake and Idlewild Park for outdoor education and play-based learning activities.
