Intermittent email delivery in 365 exchange online (outlook)

*This issue has now been resolved. As per the Microsoft Team:

Final status: We completed the roll back of a recent update which has mitigated the issue, and our service telemetry indicates recovery and restoration of mail flow. Additionally, the service has automatically rebalanced traffic across healthy infrastructure to further expedite resolution for end-users.

Root cause: We identified that a recent update made to the impacted Canadian infrastructure may have contributed to end-user impact. The update was intended to improve aspects of mail routing across our Canadian infrastructure.

Next steps:

- We're reviewing our service update procedure to better identify areas of improvement for handling service changes like this one in the future.

- We're reviewing our detection mechanisms to identify any areas of improvement for responding to issues similar to this one in the future.

We’ll provide a Post-Incident Report within 5 business days.

Information

School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay) realizes the school calendar is an important document for family planning. Unfortunately, we have had to make an amendment to the second half of the current school year. You will notice in April we have adjusted the Professional Development Day from April 17 to April 24 to align with the Regional Specialist Teachers' Association's planned day. We therefore, are proposing the move of the non-instructional day originally on April 28 to April 21 to allow a four day weekend. The District is hoping these changes will not cause too much disruption in your family planning. If you have any comments or concerns regarding these specific changes please send them to Amanda.skene@sd5.bc.ca before November 15, 2022.
