The unique part of this donation is that it was from the employees of Komatsu who did Fundraisers to raise the money to give to our program. What a great community partner.
This year, they wanted to get involved with a program that really makes a difference. Michelle Hruby reached out to me prior to summer holidays, and was impressed by the "SSS Breakfast Club" program. They started the fundraiser off by selling nominations to dunk some of our supervisors of Komatsu Mining, in a Dunk Tank, which raised $398.00. They also held a BBQ for $5.00 a plate which raised $195.00. The employees thought a 50/50 raffle would help generate some additional money, and we were able to add $143 from that. The final fundraiser was on August 20th in which the following nominated managers Steven Droste – Regional Manager Western Canada, Perry Gerscht – HVAC Supervisor, Marc Plourde – TSR Supervisor, and Vince Bernicot – Shop Supervisor all took turns getting dunked at 7am. This raised an additional $389 taking our grand total to $1125, which was presented to SSS on Sept 05th 2018.
Thanks so much to Komatsu Mining and their employees, for supporting the SSS Breakfast Program.
