Opening Drum Circle at Basketball Camp

Over 80 people participated in the opening drum circle at the Basketball Camp. Students from Highlands, Steeples, Pinewood and AQAM enjoyed a day full of skills and training by Coach Jill Carley.
Pictographs at Coal Mountain, Fishing and Cooking

On October 16 Metis Elder, Clayton Paul, graciously took Ms. Traub's Indigenous Studies class to look at pictographs near Coal Mountain. They ended the day with fishing, fire-building with flint and steel, and cooking bannock.

Mr. Lund's Shop Class

Mr. Lund's shop class will modify a pedal car before sending it to the autobody shop for a professional paint job. The pedal car will be auctioned off and the proceeds go towards scholarships for students who want to start a career in one of the automotive trades. Thank you to the Automotive Retailers Association for the donation of the pedal car for the Pedal Car Challenge.
Kindergarten Registration Opens February 1, 2024

Children born between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019 are eligible for Kindergarten Registration. Please register online or at your catchment school. Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Kindergarten Registration is Open

School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay) welcomes all children born between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2019, and encourages parents to register their children at their catchment area school for September 2024 kindergarten entry. Registration and enrolment application forms shall only be accepted by the catchment area school commencing on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. Online Registration information here.
