Cranbrook Chamber Education Grant 2026:

Deadline: July 31, 2026: The 2026 Education Grant is $400. If you are enrolled, or planning to be in the next 12 months and your program supports our local economy 9think trades, business, healthcare, leadership + more) the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce has an Education Grant for you.

EFMABC Bursaries:

DEADLINE:  April 30, 2026:  The Educational Facility Managers Association of British Columbia (EFMABC) is pleased to offer seven $1,000.00 bursaries to graduates of the 2025/2026 school year. Our association is comprised of administrative and management personnel of school districts who are responsible for construction, maintenance and custodial services, etc.  These bursaries are offered to secondary students completing their grade 12 year who will enter a recognized post-secondary educational institution in the 2026/2027 term.  Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement and/or special needs.  Preference will be given to students entering the fields of engineering, architecture, or building technology.  Should there not be suitable applications received in these fields, students in other courses of study will be considered, however, all applicants MUST be dependents of school district employees in the school facilities area (i.e. Maintenance or Custodial).

United Steel Workers Local 7884 Scholarship

DEADLINE: June 6, 2026:  United Steelworkers Union 7884 is offering 2 scholarships of $1,000 each to children of active Elk Valley Resources Fording River union employees who are attending post secondary in the fall, including apprenticeships.  Applications are available in the counselling office and on the Mount Baker website.  Applications must be mailed or faxed to the union office in Elkford.  Deadline to apply is June 6th.

Eligibility: Canadian USW Members in good standing or their children 25 years of age or younger and enrolled in any year of a post-secondary program in 2026.

Association of School Transportation Services of BC (ASTSBC) Scholarship:

DEADLINE:  June and December:  The Association of School Transportation Services of British Columbia (ASTSBC) will award a scholarship to eligible student(s) attending an educational facility in the Province of British Columbia for the express purpose of attaining certification as a Commercial Mechanic or Heavy Duty Mechanic.  Each successful candidate may receive up to a maximum of $7,000 over the 4 years of their schooling.

Students must apply directly through the ASTSBC website at: https://astsbc.org/scholarship/.

Construction, Maintenance & Allied Workers, Local 1237 Pre-Apprentice Bursary:

DEADLINE:  No Deadline Posted:  When the Construction Maintenance and Allied Workers Canada Local 1237 decided to sell their Union Hall in Dawson Creek, they donated the proceeds from the building to establish a Pre-Apprentice Bursary fund.  There will be on average 6 $500 bursaries awarded each year.  To qualify for one of these bursaries, please see the Bursary Requirements below.

Bursaries for Post Secondary Studies in French as a Second Language:

DEADLINE:  No Deadline Posted:  Are you interested in pursuing your post-secondary studies in French?   English-speaking Canadians enrolled in the first year of a college or university program have an opportunity to receive a $3,000 bursary to perfect their bilingualism while studying in a field of interest.
