​​​A local scholarship package will be available to those students graduating from Fernie Secondary School in June 2019.  This package will be given to graduating students in March before Spring Break.  It needs to be completed and handed in by April 15, 2019​​.  Other scholarship opportunities are posted on Twitter (@ FSS_Counselling), the library bulletin board, and are listed in the current school newsletter.  Graduates, please make sure Ms. Tilstra has your email address.

This year we are once again offering (16) $1,000 bursaries for a total of $16,000 to grade 12 students.   

This program was established by RE/MAX of Western Canada to recognize the success and ongoing pursuits of Western Canadian students in regards to leadership and community contribution initiatives. Students can enter online at

2019 Quest for Excellence program is open for submissions from September 10, 2018 until midnight March 11, 2019. Only online entries will be accepted.

·         TD Community Leadership scholarship – up to $70,000 –

·         Schulich Leader Scholarships for pursuing education in STEM fields – up to $100,000 –  Up to $50,000

Submissions are now being accepted for the BC Excellence and the Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarships until February 15, 2019.

The British Columbia School Superintendents Association will award six regional scholarships to students planning to pursue post-secondary studies.

Students wishing to be considered for a scholarship must be currently enrolled in their final year of studies at a public secondary school in British Columbia and expected to graduate in June 2019. One winner will be chosen from each of the six BCSSA provincial chapters (Fraser Valley, Kootenay-Boundary, Metro, Vancouver Island, Northern, Thompson-Okanagan).
Each winner will be awarded a $1000 scholarship.
