Kootenay Discovery School offers the opportunity to personalize your learning plan to fit your individual schedule, timeline, or goal.

Our courses run entirely online on the Brightspace platform, which allows for continuous enrollment, and 24/7 access to the course. All courses are developed by BC-certified teachers and meet the BC Ministry of Education curriculum requirements. 

Our district-supported online learning platform includes: Course materials and learning guides  Assignments, quizzes, and projects Teacher feedback and grades Discussion forums and other learning tools

All KDS students receive access to: A district email account Microsoft productivity tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams Virtual meetings and/or check-ins via Microsoft Teams

How to Register

Full-Time Students (Grades 10–12 and Adult Learners):

All students must complete the KDS registration form and submit the required documentation. Full-time students will then be contacted by a school counsellor to create a personalized learning plan.

Part-Time Students (Grade 10-12 and Graduated Learners):

Students registering for individual courses must also complete the KDS registration form and submit the required documentation. As part of the registration process, they will be guided to select their courses directly.
