Southeast Kootenay Region

The Southeast Kootenay School District is located in the spectacular Canadian Rocky Mountains in the southeast corner of British Columbia in western Canada.  Our school district is also located close to the United States border, so most students have the opportunity to visit the US.  The cities of the region are Cranbrook, Fernie, Sparwood and Elkford.  Most international students live and study in Cranbrook, which is the main city in the region, providing almost all the services found in much larger cities.  International students are welcome to attend the high school in each city:  Mount Baker Secondary (Grades 10-12) in Cranbrook; Fernie Secondary in Fernie, Sparwood Secondary in Sparwood and Elkford Secondary in Elkford.  Cranbrook also has two middle schools (Grades 7-9):  Parkland Middle School and Laurie Middle School.
