Young Women's Collective
The Young Women’s Collective is a student-led group created by girls, for girls. Founded in 2022, it’s a welcoming space for anyone who identifies as a girl to come together, share experiences, and find strength in community. The group meets every second Friday at lunch and offers a supportive environment to discuss the challenges and joys of being a teenage girl in high school.
Over the years, the Collective has partnered with the Women’s Resource Centre and other local non-profits to host workshops, discussions, and community projects. Past activities have included a self-defense course in Calgary and camping trips focused on confidence, connection, and empowerment. The group is run by senior students as part of their leadership projects and capstone initiatives, continuing the legacy of mentorship and empowerment at Fernie Secondary.
